Baltimore City College Post Card 1921You’ll find that Chesapeake Commons Apartments offers everything you could want in city living.  Baltimore is rich with history and landmarks and Chesapeake Commons exemplifies the preservation of both.  Originally built as Baltimore City College High School in the late 19th century, Chesapeake Commons offers the beauty and richness of living in a one-of-a kind building coupled with modern furnishings and amenities.

At Chesapeake Commons, no two floor plans are exactly alike.  Each apartment offers something different and there is a layout for everyone.  The apartments boast distinct features such as spiral staircases, high ceilings, arched windows, dramatic views, and abundant natural light. There are loft and flat apartments with one, two, and three levels.  Every apartment lends itself to a personal touch and creative decoration.

Chesapeake Commons courtyardAmenities and a sense of community help the building to feel like home.  Parking is available in a gated and monitored lot right in front of the building.  Our front desk is always staffed with a friendly attendant ready to greet you when you arrive home, accept packages for you when you aren't home, and help in any other way possible.  The property also boasts a beautifully landscaped courtyard with grills for cooking-out and tables and chairs for eating and relaxing. It's an urban oasis!  In addition to the courtyard, there is an activity room with 24-hour access that includes a fitness center, lounge area, and business center. We also hold resident parties multiple times a year, giving our building a sense of cummunity.

Convenient to a number of area universities, the building rests on the western edge of the Mount Vernon neighborhood, near historic Seton Hill.  Mount Vernon is the cultural center of Baltimore with nearby attractions that include the Walters Art Museum, Baltimore Symphony Orchestra, Lyric Opera House, and Center Stage Theater, in addition to lots of boutiques, coffee houses, bars, and restaurants. The Light Rail has a stop at the corner of our building and we are 3 blocks from the Metro Subway system in addition to being on numerous bus lines.

At Chesapeake Commons, there is an apartment that you too can call home!  Call 410-539-0090 or email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it to make an appointment with a Leasing Specialist.

“The most delicious week of summer returns, August 13-22.” It’s Baltimore’s Summer Restaurant Week! During this week, participating restaurants around the city offer 3-course fixed priced menus. The dinner menu costs $35.10 and lunch costs $20.10. This might be a good way to try a new restaurant that has caught your eye but you haven’t yet had time to drop in.

Many of the restaurants are mainstays in our own backyard, including Tio Pepe, The Prime Rib, The Helmand and Sotto Sopra. Some are newcomers like The Waterstone Bar & Grill, which is just 2 blocks north of Chesapeake Commons on Madison Street. Check out the website for a full list of participating restaurants and more information: www.baltimorerestaurantweek.com/
